Be The One to Help 1 FUR 1

We’re thankful for your consideration to donate.

In 2017, our strategic direction has been focused on launching a new program that helps special education students learn at school with the help of specially trained dogs. We’re also establishing ourselves in the LA area by developing community alliances and events that raise awareness about the impact of our current program. I hope that you join us in this quest by volunteering your time and offering a monthly (re-occurring) tax-deductible donation of any size. Every dollar matters to us, the animals, and the people we serve!

$27 delivers a one-hour animal therapy session –> In the first half of 2017 we’ve delivered 956 sessions to hospitals, hospice, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, courthouses, victim service agencies and offices.

$50 provides a Birthday gift for one of the hard-working animals, delivering free-of-charge animal assisted services –> As of July 2017, there are 50 working animals – 45 canines, 2 mini-horses and 3-15 cats who work every month to bring therapeutic healing to people in need.

$108 provides one child with autism weekly equine therapy sessions for a month -> In the first half of 2017, we’ve worked with 1,567 people in need who have benefited from 1 FUR 1’s animal assisted programs, always delivered free-of-charge.

1 FUR 1 Foundation started in 2014 from the ground up thanks to the kind and generous support received from people like yourself. Since then, we have had two major corporate donations and a few hundred individual donors who believe that animals can heal people. That has made all the difference and in 1 FUR 1’s report last year our animal assisted activity and therapy programs grew exponentially. On the other hand, we experienced some set-backs; the diminished volunteer team in Chicago and our service dog program has stalled due to a setback of the veteran experienced. That is life; we take the good with the bad, but we always work hard and hope for the best.
