School Is Back In Session!

1fur1 impact stats sept 20191FUR1 Foundation and its partners were able to deliver 96 animal assisted therapy and activity sessions to 469 children and seniors who need furry friends to help them on their journey to wellness. Each program is unique and benefits various disabilities in the most vulnerable population segments across 4 different cities/states.

We hope to grow our impact his year to 10,0000 individuals who need the healing powers of animals. Each of the 48 animals provide many measurable physical benefits. Lower blood pressure, improved cardiovascular health, and lower overall physical pain are just a few of those benefits of AAA & AAT.Manny Dogobituary_1fur1 news

Don’t take our word for it and see the latest news below:

  • In September our impact to people in need  increased by 43% compared to the previous month however, we did see small dip of 7% in animal assisted therapy and activity sessions.
  • School is back in session and the canine teams in St. Louis focus of this month is to speak to students about the emotional responses we have to things that happen to us every day. Follow #TherapyDogsInSchools on facebook every Tuesday for updates.
  • It was a busy month for the mini-horses in San Diego. They visited  Rady’s Children’s Hospital – OR/Surgery Unit where child patients and their family needed the interaction with Chips to deal with the physical and emotional stress. Follow #HealingHooves on facebook every Wednesday for updates.
  • Amos, CAP canine founding member passed earlier this year, is giving even though he’s no longer with us.  A Michigan county employee had a mom and young child in her office and the little girl told her it was her birthday and she hadn’t gotten any presents yet. The staff noticed her looking at one of Amos’s trading card on her desk. She asked the child if she liked dogs and got an enthusiastic “yes”.  She gave her Amos’s card to the delight of the child. That dog still effects people long after we lost him.  Follow #CourtDogsInAction on facebook every Thursday.
